Urban Design can play a key role in developing spatial frameworks that give direction to development.

Internationally, the accepted role of the urban design profession lies in the creation of a spatial system that provides a framework for architects and developers to react to and be informed by.

To simplify, urban designers are concerned with the public space between buildings and the manner in which built form, activities and people interface with and make use of this public space system.

Significant economic, social and environmental benefits can accrue through an appropriately scaled and strategically configured spatial framework that accommodates, connects and channels  activity, use, mix, intensity and movement.
