Collectively the Directors of dds have 20 years Local and 25 years International experience.
Our training and practice in the related fields of Architecture, Development and Construction, ensure practical, buildable and financially viable Urban Design outcomes.
We have managed to successfully facilitate a number of urban outcomes that have far exceeded our clients expectations. This has been largely due to our passionate belief that urban performance and quality of place are the key indicators of collective good.
Our teams focus on `pedestrian` space and elements of `site and place-making`have enabled us to argue for and negotiate difficult approvals, resulting in substantial savings (for he Developers) with regard to earthworks and road infrastructure costs.
Our focus on teamwork, creativity, `value add` and realistic professional fees makes us valuable members of any developmental team.

The company was established in 2005 and is based in Brisbane Australia.

We are a group of passionate professionals, competent at production, presentation, marketing processes, quality control and detail resolution, however our real value lies in the delivery of smart urban solutions that deliver meaningful social, environmental and economic benefits for developers, councils, end user`s and the larger community.

We were commissioned by DESWOS, as the Architects and Urban Designers for the Silversands Project in Cape Town, comprising some 3600 houses, retail and community facilities.

We are proud to announce that Stage 1, comprising some 600 residential units has been completed and sold out.

Stage 1 comprises a range of house typologies, including row houses, walk ups, town houses, duplexes and rear loaded product. The project represents a great blend of urban design space makings strategies, coupled with highly affordable and sustainable architectural outcomes, with prices starting at Aus $ 50 000.00 !

Stage 1 - Silversands

Awards

As part of the professional team that conceptualized and designed the Park Ridge Estate in Narangba, we are proud to announce that the Project has won the Environmental Value Commendation and Overall Landscape of the Year Award and will now represent Queensland in the National Awards.

The Narangba project also provides some important developmental precedent,

including, ideas of `site making`, community integration and involvement, the `pedestrian and cycle network` as a key structuring element, the sharing of and linkage to community facilities and schools and the notion of `eco-education`.
